A right royal affair

MTV asked us to create the look and feel of all the on-air collateral for their new show ‘Pop Royalty’.

The biggest stars from the world of pop go head to head in a battle royale to see who would be crowned the king and queen of pop.

Taking inspiration from the royal wedding, we duly obliged, creating a tongue in cheek promo, title sequence and all on screen graphics.

Using Harry and Meghan’s wedding as our basis, we set about creating a stylised marital themed promo, fit for royalty. We modelled both the young prince and his bride, as well as some of their dear ‘friends’, who would be up for the top awards.

A smashing party

We created a scene fit for a queen and proceeded to smash it to bits, bringing the models to life with their own recognisable, and some not so recognisable (we’re looking at you Harry) dance moves, using stop frame style animation. The aftermath cake wreckage was all shot in our studio and combined with the 3D to create a stylised MTV-esque after party.

As well as the promo, we also created the vibrant look and feel for all on-air elements, including the titles, clip titles, number bumpers and transitions, using royal iconography in a larger than life way. High energy, bold colour and packed with pop stars.
