Reinvigorating the UK’s biggest commercial radio station

We’ve been working with Heart for the past year to bring their visual identity to life right across their media landscape. We’ve created a set of tools, that take full advantage of their new music proposition and playlists – music from the 90’s, the noughties and right up to now. We’ve transformed the brand across their estate, regaining its momentum and activating their proposition;

‘Turn up the feel good’

Packing the brand full of energy and personality

Every part of the identity and motion language imbues the playful, infectious personality of the brand. Use of the Heart icon is dialled up, creating a cheeky companion to the already iconic logo.

A comprehensive set of eccentric scribbles were produced, to add pace and emphasis across the brand – an irreverent touch, added to all communications, from social posts to full scale OOH. These scribbles both contrast and complement the highly finished 3D visual language, with each element inspired by Heart’s brand personality; ‘Entertaining, welcoming and upbeat’. Ultimately, the resulting communications echo Hearts’ eclectic listenership.

A typographic hierarchy with 3D styling and bespoke motion expressions

We created a set of bespoke motion expressions, which are utilised by multiple teams, across all channels to create a dynamic, succinct typographic landscape. 3D type is introduced at key points in comms for impactful, bespoke output.

Simple, variable layout configurations

Each element of the identity can be combined in variable configurations using a simple grid and layered approach, empowering the in-house teams at Heart with flexibility whilst retaining consistency for strong brand recognition.

Out of home and into social

The visual identity has been rolled out across Heart’s estate, from OOH advertising to social media, across multiple teams and agencies. We produced a comprehensive set of guidelines to aid the transition and ensure all partners can turn up the feel good!

Heart experienced a 200% increase in Instagram followers, following implementation of the visual identity

We create bespoke comms for Heart that span everything from DAB sub brand launches, through to events and live gigs. The kit produced continues to evolve as our long term partnership goes from strength to strength.
