Good Godfrey’s

Brand

A cocktail bar firmly routed in history

Good Godfrey’s is a cocktail bar located in the historic Waldorf Hilton in London. We produced the branding and identity design for the bar, that takes its name from Howard Godfrey, the celebrity bandleader of the ‘Waldorfians’, the Waldorf house band in the 1920’s. At the time The Waldorf was also the spot where all of London first learnt to tango at the famous Tango Teas, and the band staged the highly acclaimed ‘Best Show in Town’.

Classic, refined & flexible

We created a marque, classic in it’s styling, that could be used flexibly throughout the identity system. A ‘double g’ monogram and signature sign off that could be used separately or together. The roaring 20’s acted as the inspiration for the elaborate and decadent symbol.

A touch of class

The materials used in the production were hard wearing yet sophisticated, functional yet decadent. Luxury menu covers were complimented with changeable luxe inners for flexibility, across night and day, allowing for updates to the offering. Gold foil added the finish across the suite, both large and small scale.
